Pre-Order “At the Roburbia Cafe”

Posted October 3rd, 2011 in Announcements by Adam

Limited-edition print, "At the Roburbia Cafe", now available for pre-order on adamlevermore.com

The first piece in my Life in Roburbia retro-robot poster series is now available for pre-order!

After years of teaming up with some of the best-loved franchises in geekdom (Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Bad Robot, The Guild, etc.) and creating art based on their existing worlds and characters, I’ve finally forced myself to sit down and work on something completely original. Life in Roburbia is my imagining of mid-20th century, small-town America, back when it was populated entirely by robots. You remember that time, right? Of course you do.

The first piece, “At the Roburbia Cafe,” is 18″x24″, printed on acid-free archival paper, and will be limited to 250 prints. Each piece will be signed and hand-numbered. The piece will go on sale on October 17 for $30, but if you pre-order by October 10, you can get it for 20% off.

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 is Here!

This year I have five things premiering at San Diego Comic-Con, and at least two signing events. Here’s all the info on those bits of coolness, as well as some exciting news about me being chosen as a featured Twitterer by UberSocial!

SIGNINGS

Want to get your Serenity Travel posters signed? Or maybe one of the new Team Unicorn posters I have premiering at the Con? Here’s where and when I’ll be signing:

  • Thursday, 3 pm, California Browncoats Booth (#A7/A8): They’ll have lots of my previous stuff for sale at the booth, too.
  • Sunday, 11 am, Team Unicorn Booth (Offsite @ NerdHQ, 379 4th Ave.): Check out the premiere of my first two posters for Team Unicorn, and get them signed while you’re at it!

NEW ART PREMIERING THIS YEAR

NOTE: Some of the pieces haven’t been announced yet, so I’ll update the mystery images as soon as I’m given permission. Stay tuned!

Poster for THE NERD MACHINE

This was the surprise project for The Nerd Machine. They asked me to create a poster that Zachary Levi could give away during his signing, commemorating the very first NerdHQ at Comic-Con. It was a very last minute project, which was done in two and a half days!

Official Season Five Poster for THE GUILD

A 16-bit-inspired poster featuring the cast of the Guild. Available for sale for $10 at The Guild’s booth, #4201, throughout the convention, and online beginning next week.

TWITTER NEWS

I’ve been approached by the editors at UberSocial to be part of their Comic-Con coverage this year. If you use the UberSocial or Twidroyd mobile Twitter apps, you can subscribe to their UberGuide to Comic-Con, which has a bunch of topic “channels”, featuring twitter accounts hand-selected by their editors, to help you sort through the tsunami of tweets coming out of the con. I’ll be listed in the “Creative Folks” channel. I’ll also be featured in all the channels when I use the #giveaway hashtag to announce where/when you can find one of my Twitter nametag giveaways.

Follow me on Twitter!

Are you finding my site for the first time because of something you found at Comic-Con? Thanks for visiting! You can check out some of the other cool stuff I’ve done, such as the Serenity Travel Posters, the Battlestar Galactica Propaganda Posters, the Inevitable Betrayal T-shirt and more, by visiting my portfolio. Looking for my Twitter nametag giveaway? You can find it here.

Going to Comic-Con? Help your Twitter Followers Find You!

Posted July 14th, 2011 in Announcements, San Diego Comic-Con by Adam

For months, I struggled to figure out what I was going to give away at San Diego Comic-Con this year to promote my graphic design business. Comic-Con is, after all, my target audience, since I specialize in designing things for my fellow geeks (the BSG Propaganda Posters, the Inevitable Betrayal T-shirt, etc.). But everything I came up with — mini portfolio booklets, postcards, buttons — felt destined to get lost in the shuffle of a thousand pieces of swag at the bottom of a giant WB bag. I needed something that would really catch people’s attention, and, if I was really lucky, not get thrown away at the end of con.

Then, a few weeks ago, my roommate and I were having a discussion about how hard it can be to put a real-world name and face to your Twitter followers when you meet them in real life, and how great it would be if you could have a Twitter name tag. She suggested that might make a pretty cool giveaway at con, and I agreed. The more I worked on it, the more I fell in love with the idea.

This, then, is what I will be giving out at Comic-Con this year:

Pretty neat, huh?

Where Can I Find One?!

I’m hoping that’s a question a lot of people will be asking. I ordered a ton of them, and I’m going to be working over the next few days to find a few booths willing to give them a home. Here’s the current list of locations where you’ll be able to find them:

  • The Guild [Booth #4201]
  • The California Browncoats [Booth #A07/A08]
  • Team Unicorn [Offsite at NerdHQ]
  • The 501st Legion and The Rebel Legion [Booth #MZ17]
  • Quantum Mechnanix [Booth #2944]
  • Shout Factory [Booth #4248]
  • Super Siblings [Table P2 - Small Press]
  • On my person, as I wander the con.

Of course, these are all busy booths with their own signing and event schedules, so keep in mind that the cards may not be out on the table at all times. But with a bunch of locations, you should have no problem picking one up!

Want to have them at your booth, too? Drop me a line. I’d love to give you some to hand out, too!

Other Cool Stuff

I’ve got a TON of other stuff premiering at this year’s show. It’s honestly a bit overwhelming. I’ll be talking about them just as soon as the folks I created them for do. (Don’t want to get ahead of their own publicity plans!) But stay tuned, and follow me @lexigeek on Twitter for the very latest.

Hope to see you in San Diego!

Going quiet this week

I’ll be in sunny San Diego this week for Comic-Con, so there won’t be any updates this week. If you’re going to be in town for the convention, you can find me at the QMx booth (A09, right next to the California Browncoats). I’ll be signing my posters and maquettes Thursday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Hope to see you there. If I don’t, see you back here next week!

First new Serenity poster will premiere at Comic-Con

Posted July 15th, 2009 in Announcements by Adam

The first of my new officially-licensed Blue Sun travel posters (based on Joss Whedon’s Serenity) will premiere in a limited run of 100 prints, which will be offered for sale at next week’s San Diego Comic-Con. You can find them (and me) at the QMx booth, #A9.

This limited-edition run will be slightly smaller than the unlimited version that will ship with the five-poster set. It will also be printed with a new texture-printing process that will give an added sense of depth to the artwork.

This is the second series of Blue Sun travel posters I’ve done for QMx, and will feature a whole new set of planets and locations. You can see the first series on QMx’s Web site.
