A logo I created for a new convention – Geek Girl Con – scheduled for 2011, which will focus on celebrating the role of women in geek-dom. The goal here was to create a professional-looking logo which showed women as strong, independent and just as tuned-in to geek culture as their male counterparts. The organizers were looking for something that struck a delicate balance, featuring attractive characters without being hypersexualized.
The logo was received by the community with overwhelming approval, which is always a nice feeling.
