ElfQuest Fan Trailer Website

I was asked to put together a website for a fan-made trailer for an adaptation of the classic ElfQuest comics. The creators of the trailer, Stephanie Thorpe and Paula Rhodes, needed a site that would be simple, yet evocative, and would capture the woodsy magic of ElfQuest. The site needed to feature an embedded YouTube video, a countdown to the premiere, photo gallery, etc.

The high profile site drew thousands of visitors in the first few days, and was featured in articles on Boing Boing, io9, IGN and many others.

City of Sunnyvale Website Redesign

Posted April 30th, 2010 in Web by Adam

I led a six-month project to completely overhaul the City of Sunnyvale’s municipal Web site from the ground up, shifting the focus from being a staff-centric site to a user-centric site. I created the look and feel for the new site, and developed the first working mockups, including all the necessary CSS. The mockups were then turned over to an outside vendor, who converted them to templates for the DotNetNuke CMS platform the site would be using. I then oversaw the creation of content by staff throughout the City, including reviewing and editing every page to make sure each complied with Web best practices and established City style guidelines.

The most exciting feature of the new site was the addition of “mega dropdown menus”, which enable users to quickly access the most commonly-requested areas of the site.
